Titanic submarine missing.

A submersible carrying five people to see the remains of the Titanic at the bottom of the North Atlantic Ocean has been missing since Sunday, June 19, 2023. The submersible, a 22-foot Titan operated by OceanGate Expeditions, was on a dive to the Titanic wreck when contact was lost with the surface vessel, the Polar Prince.

The search for the missing submersible is ongoing, and the US Coast Guard has been joined by Canadian authorities in the effort. So far, there have been no signs of the submersible or its passengers.

The five people on board the Titan were:

Hamish Harding, a British businessman and explorer

Paul-Henri Nargeolet, a French diver and submarine expert

Shahzada Dawood, a Pakistani billionaire , Sulaiman Dawood, Shahzada's son

Stockton Rush, the CEO and founder of OceanGate Expeditions

The Titan is a state-of-the-art submersible that is designed to withstand the extreme conditions at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean. It is equipped with a number of safety features, including an emergency beacon and a life support system that can last for up to 96 hours.

However, the Titanic wreck site is a challenging environment, and there are a number of factors that could have contributed to the submersible's disappearance. These include:

Mechanical failure
A collision with debris
A loss of power
A failure of the life support system

The search for the missing submersible is ongoing, and the Coast Guard has said that they will not give up until they have found the Titan and its passengers.

The disappearance of the Titan has raised concerns about the safety of submersibles that visit the Titanic wreck site. The Titanic is a fragile wreck, and there is a risk of damage to the submersible or its passengers if they come into contact with debris.

The Coast Guard has issued a number of safety recommendations for submersibles that visit the Titanic wreck site. These include:

Conducting a thorough pre-dive inspection of the submersible
Avoiding contact with debris
Maintaining a safe distance from the wreck
Having a backup plan in case of an emergency
The disappearance of the Titan is a tragedy, and our thoughts are with the families of the missing passengers. We hope that the search is successful and that the submersible and its passengers are found safe.
